COMEDK UGET

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test

Admission to BE/BTech in about 150 private, unaided engineering colleges in Karnataka, including RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT and PES. It is open to candidates from all states.

Eligibility

You must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics compulsory, plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics. General candidates need at least 45% aggregate in these subjects and SC/ST/OBC (Karnataka) candidates need 40%. Candidates from any state are eligible, and there is no age limit.

Exam pattern

Computer-based test of 3 hours with 180 MCQs, 60 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each correct answer earns 1 mark, for a total of 180, and there is no negative marking. Results are declared as ranks, not percentiles.

Syllabus at a glance

Covers the Class 11 and 12 PCM syllabus in line with NCERT and the Karnataka PUC curriculum. Questions are mostly direct and formula-based, at a level between Class 12 boards and JEE Main.

How toppers play it

There is no negative marking, so answer all 180 questions. Leave the last 3-5 minutes for educated guesses on anything left blank.
You get one minute per question. Practise rapid single-concept problems rather than long JEE Advanced-style derivations.
Mathematics is the most time-consuming section; many toppers do Chemistry first, then Physics, then Mathematics.
Memorise formula sheets and NCERT facts, since many questions need only direct substitution or recall.
Use JEE Main as your main preparation. A two-week COMEDK-specific mock phase in April is usually enough to adapt to the pace.
